DAILY DANCE BLOG

6:49pm, Remington Avenue and Cressmont Avenue and W 27th Street, Baltimore, MD

Not hidden at all today. Under the Remington R. I know the guy who designed and fabricated this piece of public art. I had to run an errand and decided on this site. Kind of a sweet hello to him and his partner, who I saw just 30 minutes before this. My left trapezius hurts. It's been hurting since Tuesday evening. It's hella windy out tonight. Will make for an interesting audio track. The dancing felt awake, alive, engaged, Full of confidence. Fake or real, it doesn't matter... the energy reads the same to strangers. I can feel eyes on me and I don't care. Only 16 days in and I feel like there are so many places to offer these dances to. The idea of being seen feels less strange, less intimidating... I feel like this is who I am. I am the human who dances in public spaces because who says dance is an indoor activity? Finding my way into floor/ground work. Not being afraid to get dirty. This is real. I am real. I can fell the snot start to drip. Mimicking the architecture I am beneath. Trying to embody the R. Be the R. Dance the R. Today was a gift to myself. Day sixteen.
