8:30pm, Alley off of W 26th Street and N Charles Street, Baltimore, MD

Sometimes I have perfect timing. A car literally just pulled into the alley where I was dancing. A confined space today. It's an exit door from the Bank of America building on Charles Street. Bright, downward light. Great contrast between the "interior" dance (lit) space and the "exterior" alley (dark) space. A train was passing through the tunnel as I started. A haunting whistle, a familiar and favorite sound of mine. I plan on starting in a forward fold. The train sound fills my ears. The walls are my dance partners. The wind blows my jacket away, off camera. The space feels familiar. The restraint of architecture in proximity to my body... Some of my turns felt more fully sustained. I'm glad I waited all day to dance. To me, the aesthetic of this site is so good. It's cold but not. The wind has a chill and is constant. May the next week bring fulfilling movement, interesting sites, and a sense of calm as I realign for February. Day twenty-six.
