8:24pm, E 32nd Street and N Lovegrove Street, Baltimore, MD
A huge grin came over my face when I saw this site. I planned to walk up Charles, next to Hopkins and I found this perfect little stage. My brain feels wild with thoughts of my personal life. A shelf, a chair, and a set of drawers. But my movement felt uninteresting for most of the dance. Repeats of phrases I lean on when I don't necessarily have an impulse. This site is exciting but I don't think I felt completely safe to draw that out. Several cars passed through the alley. People were sort of present from multiple directions. I momentarily was reminded of my early dancing in Seattle. I can tell that the presence of people and cars changed how I moved. I never really stilled for too long but I felt myself slow. The "shelf", as it were, became comedic to me. That was the first detail that really drew me to this site. I had wanted to try to dance in DC. Brought my tripod and everything... That city does not excite my body for some reason. Day fifty.
