DAILY DANCE BLOG

It's ever so lightly raining. Not even raining, more like misting. I intended to wander toward this park and find a site from there. The playground ended up being my backdrop. I warmed up. There were people about and it felt more natural to slip into a state of dancing. I know I'm not showing up to create magic everyday. I am showing up to develop the elements of my dance magic. I wiggle my fingers during transition times or when I am at the end of movement phrases. They are a type of punctuation. I do this "invisible shield"; bringing both of my hands up to quickly hover around my head as if I were placing a mask or helmet over my head. This has instinctually occurred when people get closer to me while dancing. Perhaps a sort of hiding. I was quite in tune and aware of these specific gestures during this dance. The bird calls became an auditory anchor point toward the end. I feel like there was a distinct moment when one dance finished and a new one emerged. I'm not sure what I think about the presence of 2 distinct dances in a single video. Today is more about stating observations I had while dancing. After all, this is generative research. Day one hundred seventeen.
